Well ok i suppose i shall give this a try. Here goes!
1. I have had a brain tumor since i was 10 years old. Or at least we found out about it when i was ten cuz i had a seizure at my 10th birthday party and it just took off from there! (its ok its not cancer or anything... its just there! in fact.. it has shrunk the last couple of times i've been to the doctor).
2. I am ranked 11th in my class of... over 300. I have a 3.9 GPA. I'm in the National Honors Society.
3. I want to go to Ball State to study Microbiology. The research in the medical field interests me very much. (why ball state you ask? well... i like the college and my sis and my bro live in Muncie! Hurray!)
4. I love music. I hate solos.. but i love music. When i play with the Orchestra i love the freedom i feel in it, how my soul sores with the music (when i let it). I play the violin.
5. I love being outside. I enjoy basking in the sun while birds are singing and creatures wonder about. My favorite kind of weather is windy weather. I love the wind. It always makes me feel refreshed when it caresses my skin.
6. I have asthma. Once... the muffler fell off my car on the way to school... (i was draggin it behind me) while my parents were away in Muncie or West Lafayette visiting Jez or Kyle. After school I had to get Matt's dad to take me home and i locked the keys in my car in the ignition. So once they dropped me off, i rode back to the high school with a spare key to unlock the door. On the way i started panicking because my asthma was acting up. Thankfully i made it back home without fainting or anything. I decided that day that i never wanted to be on my own again (that was last year! lol...)
7. I love to learn. Therefore, i love school. I am not really looking forward to summer vacation. (strange one, am i!)
8. I am very self-conscious/insecure. That is one of the problems with being in music.. you must be up in front of people to perform.. but i like performing (when i think about the music instead of the audience). If i could be invisible to the people i dont know very well (or those i think dont like me) that would be great... although not all the time. Maybe if i had an invisibility cape or something... hmmmmmmm.... lol.
Well there ya go. I tag Amanda and Family, Amberella, youthworker, marlafb2000, Artzy Carmen, MoeKris... ok well since i dont relaly know anyone else... i suppose i shall break that last rule.
Well, I'm back from NYC with a whole bunch of homework! :D. Here's what i did there:
- I got less than 6 hours of sleep each night in the hotel (probably less than 5 on the bus)... and almost missed 2 lunch meals (my fault :P).. yeah (only not fun part).
- I saw Mary Poppins on Broadway. (It was AWESOME!!)
- We went to Lady Liberty (of which i took about 50 pictures)...
- We went to Ellis Island (was pretty cool).
- We saw Ground Zero for like 5 mins (strapped for time... but it was weird cuz its like the only open space in NYC besides parks).
- We went to Central Park.
- We went to Carnegie Hall (i would LOVE to play on that stage!!!).
- We went to the top of the Rockefeller Center (or Rockefella Centa as i like to call it). It was soooo gorgeous (and extremely cold and windy)! It was a night so you could see all the lights! I think that was the best part. :D
- We went to Medieval Times (BLACK AND WHITE! BLACK AND WHITE!). The best part of that was yelling at the top of my lungs and cheer for Goshen with my buddies.
- We performed... (which was awesome! there was supposed to be a workshop afterward BUT the judge was like because of your level of musical maturity and the way you played.. all i have to say is continue the dedication and commitment that you already have. I watched another group play and the judge had a BUNCH to say and work on with em...[they werent very good :(..].) Yeah so at the awards banquet (which was at med times), the Symphonic orch got a 1st place with a gold rating, Philharmonic got a 1st with a silver, the Advanced choir got a 1st with a gold rating, the women's chorale got a 1st with a silver rating, the crimsonaires got a 1st with a gold rating, AND (fun fun times!) Symph got the Grand Champion (which is first overall :D) and Crimsonaires got Grand Champion for choir. hehe we were like if our band was here we would have taken grand champ for that too. After our performance Mrs. Ellington was so happy she was blowing us kisses lol.
So yeah! It was great! :D
Woot! I finished my web design project today and it turned out great! I thought you guys might wanna see it. Although, some of my information is incorrect. Like Grampa B being struck by lightening in Wyoming 13 years ago when he was struck by lightening in Indiana about 30 years ago. Anyway, here's the link. You might want to open it with internet explorer if you have it because on mozilla some of the stuff stopped working. So here 'tis (make sure you get the whole link):

Well, I had fun tonight! We got inducted into the National Honor Society! :D Matt O. got in too. We had fun talking and listening to speakers. Oh and dont forget the funny things that people were proud of like: keeping a 4.0 longer than her siblings! haha... So I'm hoping that being in the NHS will help me get scholarships and such. if you wanna see pictures, my mom will probably post them on her blog: musingmarla.blogspot.com or her one on Vox. Hope you all had a fun evening too!
Well today i spent nearly 14 hours at school. Fun fun i know. I spent 7 hours in classes. And then from 3:45-7:10 i played in the pit orchestra for Secret Garden. Now you may be thinking what's so bad about that? Well 20 mins later, i had to play for an hour and half for Symphonic orchestra. i tell you my fingers are tired. I would've loved to just sit back and relax when i got home... but no. Now i have to do my homework. This is my plight, my life. Luckily, this is our last full week of practicing. Next week, we have i think 6 performances. The silver lining is that they feed us half way through our musical practice. So i didn't have to starve. Hurray... I hope you all had a better day than i did :).
Well, i thought i'd join my mother in trying this Vox thing. Fun fun! My day's been pretty good. Besides having homework to do and no will to do it :P. Oh poo i have a private lesson tomorrow... i really should go to bed! lol. so....goodnight!
